Compost

Compost is a mixture of damp substances produced by the processes of bio-oxidation and humidifying of organic raw material by fungi and bacteria. The compost is used as a soil amendment for agronomic use or flower nurseries. It is thanks to compost that the soil benefits from increased biodiversity of micro flora to protect and benefit the entire supply chain living.

The quality of the compost is determined by the nature and homogeneity of the incoming product (wood debris and pruning, leaves, grass, gardening and cooking waste, manure, sewage, etc …) and the manufacturing processes. The quality compost – obtained by treatment of separated organic waste – is very different from compost of lower value originating from mixtures of domestic organic waste and added materials of inferior value. In the latter category it should be noted that the compost produced from organic parts of municipal solid waste (MSW – wet waste) is normally used for less worthy purposes or even dedicated to the production of biogas.

Each process requires specific knowledge of the input material and technological possibilities available. The material is crushed, screened, stirred and, therefore, stabilized thanks to aerobic and anaerobic solutions promoted by Camoter International.
